Default Compression Test Results

I have a stock 97 JDM B18C-R Motor in my hatch with Toda Spec B's. Just did a compression and got the following low numbers: 195 195 195 199.

From the search i have done, these numbers seem awfully low for a Type R motor, but are atleast consistant.

Should there be any reason for concern? If so, what can cause low compression numbers eventhough they are consistant?

I did the compression test exactly as shown on the cspeed racing site.

No one has any reasons why it is so low?

IF you did the test correct and the #'s are that close I would not worry about them being low.

Make sure the engine is up to opeating temp before you do the test. I didn't at first and my numbers were low. After some advice, I did the test again with the car warmed up and the numbers were right on the money.

I beleive the motor had about 50k km when i purchased it, so it should be close to that now as it is a race only vehicle.

Warming the car up can make that much of a difference? That's weird...

dont forget that the toda cams play into compression numbers as well, u are looking for consistency. Make sure car is at operating temp and at wot. Also if your valves need adjustement, it also plays a role in the numbers too, i gaind almost 15 psi when i adjusted my valves. I have the same motor as you, stock cams though and put down 270 across the board.
