Default i'm a idiot when it comes to turbo,, can u folks help out..

i thinking about boosting my b20 motor,, how much is the cost on a homemade turbo.. i'm not looking to get crazy hp or nothing. .
what are the thing i need for a set up and where to get them. im happy with 6psi. thanks.

u will need:

turbo exhaust manifold $250-$1500
a turbo $200-$2000
down pipe $50
intercooler $100-$1000 or junkyard
pipings $50-$250 or junkyard
blow off valve $100-$200
bigger injectors $50-$100
FMU or fuel management $100-$4000
bigger fuel pump $150-$500
forged pistons $500-$800
forged rods $400-$800
fuel lines, oil lines $50
bigger exhaust system perfer 3 inch piping $300-$500

the word "cheap" and "turbo" dont go together man

ya... for a b20 i heard the sleeves were pretty weak... so u mite wanna get them sleeved. thats not really cheap. but if u go all motor u'll have to sleeve them anyways.

i thought junkyard turbo's can be put together for about 600.. even at low boost. i just want additional 30 hp or so

Buy nitrous then.
If you go turbo you have two choices
1) do it rite the first time and invest the money where it's needed or
2) do it rite the second time, after having to rebuild your motor.
2 years with a boosted d15 and that engine is still running strong in my buddys car, and 3 years with my b16 boosted and it s till runs like a champ.
