O2 SENSOR GOING BAD AGAIN
ok guys the first time my o2 sensor went out was when i decarbonized the motor. i went to autozone and got the universal bosche o2 sensor with 3 month warranty. after about a month, it went out again. so i went back to autozone and replaced it free of charge. after doing this, it went out again for the 3rd time in no more or less than a week.
what do u guys think is causing this? i have a dc cc headers and the o2 is relocated on the downpipe opposed to the original setup which was on the exhaust manifold. u guys think that this could be causing the problem?
i have a 91 civic hatchback with a zc dohc (2nd gen.) it is stamped 91 on the block.

well, i am running a pm6 ecu from a 90 si and have my timing advanced. i still have the oem fpr. will the fpr cause this? or the timing being too advanced? how will i know if my car is running rich?
Need a sensor from an 89 Si perchance-drop me an e-mail. I have a DC header and the timing is advanced 2 degrees witha PM6 and all is good. I use nothing but factory O2 sensors after having read all of the posts on the subject. You can sometimes get a good aftermarket one and then there are some that simply won't do. The stock FPR is NOT your problem at all. Could be the injectors are causing this, but not likely.
What do you mean by decarbonize-did you use some sort of injector cleaning kit? They can sometimes cause injector failure. If you actually tore the engine down that should not be a problem. If you are throwing codes other than the O2-that is a problem to check and correct.
The sensor is so far downstream of the ports on a DC header that all should be good. Make sure that your grounds are good and that you NEVER touch the tip of the sensor. Also use only the anti-seize that Honda specs for the threads of the sensor.

well, when i decarbonized my motor, i used the stp throttle body cleaner and sprayed it inside the intake manifold. and no i didn't use injector cleaners.
the ecu is throwing a code 1
