i pulled the motor and tranny together out of the car. i need to put the motor on the stand. how do i pull apart the tranny? can i lift it from a different point so that the tranny is free to pop off? thanks :D
undo everything connecting the motor and tranny (tranny bolts, starter..) and it should come off with some wiggling.
you can do it on the ground, or it might help if you put the a block of wood under the oil pan to give you a few inches of ground clearance.

yeah thats going to be kinda hard with it on the ground, mabey lay it on the timing belt side and lift it up? thats what i did for a d series motor
Just undo everysingle bolt that's holding the tranny to the motor, take off the starter, and take off the flywheel shield. it should pop right off with some wigling.
