Default misfire after warmup (obd0 b16 in 88 crx si)

ok...i'm getting really frustrated by this problem because i'm trying to sell the car and i keep getting calls..but i cant show it to em..

it started with me washing my engine bay out earlier this week and replacing the main ground cable...i did get some water in the spark plug holes but i cleaned that all out and the car ran fine. i drove it yesterday and after about 10 minutes of driving the car started misfiring under light throttle. at first i figured that maybe when i washed the engine bay out that i messed up the 2nd o2 sensor wiring so i checked the wire and it seems to be ok. i drove around some more and the misfiring got way worse, eventually not just part throttle, it would misfire at idle, part throttle and WOT, and almost all rpm. i drove the car today and when it was cold it ran perfect. and even when it warmed up it ran perfect. but after 10 minutes or so..when the engine bay got really hot i guess. the engine started misfiring again. i unooked both o2's and it made no difference and threw no code. i unhooked the vtec oil pressure switch so it would go into limp mode, but even that made no difference. does anyone have any idea what it could be?

ok...update...so today i changed the distributor cap...and its almost gone..but there is still some hesitation...anyone have any idea? possibly still some water inside the distributor from when i washed the engine bay? i have another coil i'm going to try to see if that makes any difference.

does it hesitate when you're low RPMs but not at high? I have a similar issue with the current engine in my CRX and it goes away after I change plugs and wires. Not sure if that really helps you but if it's just light throttle low RPM I'd pull all the plugs and wires and inspect them carefully.
