speedometer not working

Default speedometer not working

i have a 4th gen civic 2 door and the speedometer doesnt work. what should I look at to get it working again?

we did a complete swap with a b16 motor. the speedometer is original


any help would be appreciated

speedo cable in the transmission. if its not in shove it in there.

take out the gauge cluster and check to see if the white speedometer plug is plugged into where its supposed to and also check and see if it spins freely

you might need the clip to hold the cable into the transmission. Some cars seem to need it more than others. Also, check if the cable itself is still in good shape. I broke mine when I was swapping out my engine.

yeah..i got the same problem with my ef/b16.
i checked the cable and it is all the way in the trans with the clip in. and it's also connected to the cluster where it should be.
so i guess my cable has to be broken?

for future reference..what cable to purchase for the B16/EF?
