Default CRX Type R lost to ITR?!

Alright heres the specs of the car

CRX type R:
JDM motor
obd0 Injectors
255 intank fuel pump
Y1 LSD tranny
DC 4-1 headers
Greddy Exhaust
Intake

01 PY ITR:
Intake
Stock exhaust

I lost to my friend with a USDM Type R on the highway. I would think that my car would pull harder cause of its weight but no! We both started off in 2nd going 40mph. His Vtec kicks in first but my car starts to boggle then vtec kicks in at 5.5 -6 RPM and his Vtec is alot louder then mines. He vtec pulls his about a quarter car lenght ahead of me after 3rd gear is over. Does anyone know whats wrong with my car?

it sounds like your having problems with your vtec engagement.try double checking the wiring to start off.

There's your answer right there. Everyone knows the yellow ITR's are making more power than the other colors .

It's not always cut and dry, with the light car winning. There's a huge number of factors, from motor condition, gearing, driver ability/error, etc. As was stated above, make sure your motor is running up to par.

prolly you using a pr3 ecu which needs a 2nd o2 input or will run like crap ... any CELs ? send your ecu to me to get reprogramed and then race your friend again and come back and post

http://www.gbrtuning.com to see a typical ecu upgrade dyno

I hear this alot from CRX owners with VTEC swaps.

It sounds as if you could benefit from some tuning.

Your tranny could have a little to do with it. Check this site out. The ratios on the ITR are a little tighter.
