So here's exactly what's been happening, it all started last week when my positive battery wire fell off , well we grinded it down/cleaned it , well it worked fine, then my car wouldnt start the last couple days, and i was pretty much low on oil, so today i was driving and the car just stopped, the mechanic said my engine locked up, well my dad went up hit the starter with a hammer, boom started, my dad says it's the starter and solenoid, the mechanic says it's a locked engine due to no oil, and the engines gone which is bs, so what exactly is going on?

the battery = fine, alternator = fine

spark plugs? solenoid? starter? .. any input?

your dad hit the starter and the engine turned over, yet you still think the mechanic is right and it could be sized?

your starter is junk. get a new one.

 

no i know the mechanic is bullshit, because the engine turned over, so obviously it works and is not blown, i was just seeing forsure if it was the starter..

my thought is the battery shorted it out when the wires were loose

 

obvious thing would to replace the starter which seens to be the prob if that doesnt fix then go from there
