Smoking Problem
If I’m at a stop and put the car under load when I take off, blue smoke comes out at random times. If my rpms are high in 3rd or 4th gear and I let up off the gas at high rpms, blue smoke comes out when I give it more gas in the same gear and you can smell it too. When I get into WOT and rev it high the blue smoke is coming out then I think around 6,800 7,000 rpm or a little lower, black smoke comes out and it pours out. It's almost looks like dust is covering the road behind me.
At round 3,000 to 4,000 rpm it hesitates, jurkes and boggs. Blow that and above that it’s fine until the smoking starts. It idles great and starts fine. I always get a CEL but NEVER an ECU code. Sometimes the CEL will come on right after I start it up, and other times it comes on 3mins or less after driving.
I thought it was the thermostat, so I replaced it and the same stuff is still happening, nothing has change one bit.
I did oil changes, and smoke be gone additives and it only helps for like less then a week.
I’m thinking some values maybe stuck close or my piston rings are fried.
Also it was leaking oil under my cam sensor, I haven't checked lately.
I've only had it for 3months( the motor)
The motor is a DOHC ZC all stock

head gasket.
it covers all of your symptoms...the loss of power, the smoke.
if anyone wants to start a betting pool on this i got 10 bux that says head gasket is shot.

You get a CEL, but no ECU code? That's impossible.
Next time you get a CEL, pull over and look at the ECU light, but keep the car running and don't shut it off.

I dont want it to be a head gasket, DAMNIT! I dont have the time nor experience to pull all that **** off the head and put it back on the RIGHT way. If its anbody that knowns how to do this and lives in Maryland, can you help me. NOVA is welcomed too.
How much does this job run $$$ for at shops and "do it yourselfers"?
If i cant find nobody to help me or get a good price on the job i'm just gonna junk the motor and get a b18 or b20.
What piston rings do i need for the DOHC ZC 89 teg? I known the head gasket is 89 teg

hate to say this but i went to a shop about replacing the head gasket, and for them to do it the right way (mill the head to get a nice and tight seal) they threw me 1000-1200 bucks. oddly enough, after more driving, and some vafc tuning (no dyno yet dammit) the problem stopped. my dad thinks its because the gasket re-expanded because of it being ran once again after about 2 years. im not sure but im not complaining! good luck man...
