Default Blue smoke

K here goes another off the wall question. When i am driving in 5th gear between 3000 and 4000 rpms and get off the gas and back on I see a puff of blue smoke come out. But if get off the gas and do not get back on for about 15 seconds nothing comes out. But if I get on the gas hard or do the same thing above 3-4000 it does not happen. Anyone have a similiar problem? Thanks

Sounds like your burning oil. You might be getting some blow-by. What is your setup?

when you get off the gas, the engine shuts down and there is no load.

So why would this make it smoke? And only smoke in 5th gear? When you say the engine shuts down? The engine is still running I agree with you on the no load part by why still the oil?

no blowby is more intense than that...I would guess valve guides and or seals going south
