Default what CRX engine did i buy

I just picked up a 16valve CRX enigine off this guy but i have some questions. The date on the engine is 91 when the guy thought it was a 89. Its running Dual point fuel injection. And its 16 valves. Was there a SI out there that ran this or has this engine been modified. Its has 180,000 miles on it but im only interested in the Tranny but would also like to put the 16valve head on my HF engine would this be possible? The engine looks great besides the normal dirt.

if it was to be si then it would be multi point fuel injection which would be d16a6 but in this case you got yourself a dx

Ya D15b2.

You can swap heads, and swap to MPFI, there are literally hundreds of post about them in the archives!
Just use the search feature at the top of the page

HF is MPFI. And no the head won't work. The HF engine does not have valve reliefs for 16 valves.

is there a way to get the pistons to have more valve relief. I thought there was enough clearance in the back valves to not have a releif. I know a machine shop that can make them if needed but is it worth it

dont gotta jump to the conclusion that its a b2 just because it has a dpfi, it could easily be a a6 with a dpfi

Someone on here put the a6 head on the HF block and clayed the motor and it worked. I believe the reliefs are just in case you jump timing, I'd have to search for the thread.

That list may be accurate, keep in mind that 1st gen b16a's had the weakest cams and a 58mm TB. And don't forget that it matters if the motor is JDM or USDM, manual or auto.

I'm quite sure a "92-95 Civic" does not have 160hp and a lot of the integra engine codes are off, that's what caught my attention first

Who's talking about Hf's? An HF is a D15B6 not a B2.
B2 is DX/Lx motor.... 16 valve.

Anyway, HEY - since you were able to locate the DATE on the engine, why not look again for the ENGINE code???

if you have the motor why cant you go and look at the engine stamp and tell us what it is. D15b2 is a dx motor, it is the only motor that came with a dpfi setup, nobody in there right mind would convert a d16a6 to dpfi.

You can put the head on to your crx, but you will need to swap out pistons, if your going to go that far why not install the d15b2 motor in your car, and convert it to mpfi using the parts off your hf.

Don't do that. It will be slower than the D15B2. The HF intake is VERY restrictive.
