not really sure if the crank has to be worked on, but i know the girdle has to be machined a little. you will also need a gsr windage tray to clear the girdle. the b20 windage tray will not clear the girdle. with that said, you also need a gsr oil pick up and oil pan. This is pretty much all i know, because i am doing the same thing to a b18b block.

yes it can be done...i have done it on 2 b20 blocks....

YOU MUST LINE BORE IF YOU DO THIS

i also used the gsr mains for 2-3-4 so that was the reason for line bore...

also make sure to use dowels with it. Line bore is critical whether using gsr 2,3,4 mains or stock machined 2,3,4.

My understanding was that you could use a GSR girdle (machined to fit) and still utilize the B20 mains....can anyone confirm this?

you have to use the GSR mains with the girdle...reason for line-honing.

I understand that. My question is below,

My understanding was that you could use a GSR girdle, machined to fit LS/B20 mains....can anyone confirm this?

I dont think it really makes a huge difference but as long as your clearence's are correct and within spec you dont need a girdle unless your going real crazy

Why dont you guys buy a Golden eagle girdle kit. it comes with pre machined dowels so its a TRUE bolt on ... not like Z10's. You do not need to machine or take to machine shop.. you can do this all at home. Too much hassle.. instead of buying a GSR girlde and gettng it line bored just by a Golden eagle. You can purchase them from Camp1320.com for about $200 brand new

I found out that the gsr girdle can be seperated from the gsr mains, the girdle has the dowels that fit the gsr mains, so this is the reason to have the b20 mains machine(or opened up some) at the main bolts to exept the girdle, this means you dont need to align bore it, plus, why take the chances of messing up a correct factory spec align bore just for the girdle that you wont even see much of a differece if you didnt even have it?, maybe on a sleeved b20 running crazy boost, might be a must for a girdle, I have had my crvtec running 3 different setups, have not seen the need for the girdle yet, though I am going to use it this time around, cheap inssurence
