.....mounting 91 si seats in my itr.
I do agree with you about the supportiveness of those seats. Do you have a set that you can compare the seat rails?
I miss my Rex's

i'm sure you can fab some oem rails/sliders from the r seats or any other dc2 chasis seat from a junkyard or something onto the si seats.

The 92-95 Civics have the same seat bolt config (which im sure you know) and people have put them into EGs, try searching the EG forum because I know there were a few threads on those seats in that chassis.

Well, it is true.
91 si seats were made back when recaro did them for honda. They are oem RECARO seats. The usdm itr seats = t3h sux0rz.
although they are pretty to look at.
For autox, I have always felt MUCH more comfortable in my 91 si (because of the seats).
I have a chance to get two corbeau race buckets for my EF - with harnesses. If I get them, I will use the si seats in my itr. Best of both worlds!

Actually they're not Recaro. There was aslo a very detailed thred in the EG forum on this point too. A couple of guys called Honda and a few other places and found out that they were not made by Recaro. They are supportive though.

Yea, technically Recaro North Americas site is http://www.recaro-nao.com, but they have the same pages as hte english version. I just went and looked over my friends CRX vtec seats (black, red stitched), and there is no tags, labels, stamps anything on them saying Recaro. Even the rails are nothing like Recaros.</TD></TR></TABLE>

And no, Recaro said they didn't make the seats for CRX. If you like, you can call Honda or Recaro at any one of the numbers I provided and ask for yourself, Honda says they manufacture their own seats, and Recaros says that they don't make them for Honda, it's pretty simple concept really. And since Recaro didn't get to Asia till 97, I doubt they internationally outsourced for one market and not another, since the cost for importing from Europe, especially Germany, is expensive as hell. A Recaro Speed in the states retails for what, about 500ish with no rails? I can get a pair with rails for a little over 650 here.</TD></TR></TABLE>

damn i just read thru all 3 pages. People can be very hard headed sometimes. So it appears to be confirmed that your 91 si seats are not recaros.
Do you think you can snap a pic of your seats?
