Default Follow your Dreams???

Since i was 15years old i wanted to get an ITR. When i was 16 I was given my sisters 96 4runner and i help onto that for about 8 months. I traded the 4runner in plus cash for my 2000 integra GSR in White. I wanted an ITR but was told they werent coming that year. Then when i turned 18 my parents decided, after the death of my best friend in a car accident that i was not going to college in this car. I bought a Chevy Trailblazer, which i love by the way, but I still want the ITR. The next step is, I just started, or let say am almost done with a prject car i have been building for fun. Built and boosted 94 civic coupe. I have reached the point where i am ready for a new car, which must be under or around $30,000. As i have been weighing my options I looked at the new 2004 STi and 2004 TSX with navigation in 6spd. My dad tells me today that he will no longer control the fact that I am only allowed to by a new car. My life has been based on new cars. My dad hates used cars. Anyways, my parents do not pay for my cars, but i do respect their thoughts on what i am buying. With my dad telling me that i can get a used car if that is what i want, I have brought my dream back to perspective. Getting an ITR. Whats it like owning 2 small hondas like a civic and integra if anyone has any experience? Should i follow my dream and get my ITR? or should i spend the extra cash and get something with 4doors such as the TSX or STi? Sorry to ranbt, I am just having a very difficult time with this

I have a garage at both of my homes. And i am fully covered, yes i know it is crappy to get a car stolen but things happen and I can live with that to own something so great!

Yeah if you want you can take a look at mine.

I won't sell to just anybody though. You'll have a safe place for it and be a responsible owner for it too.

I won't sell to some rich kid that's going to go street race it right as soon as he pulls out of the driveway.

Actually i want to find someone that will take care of it like i did before i will even sell it.

I love your ITR man, but I am not trying to spend that much on a used ITR. Plus I am the type of person who likes to start from scratch or very little. I know its farfetched to find a lightly modded ITR or stock. But i am damn sure gonna try!

Maybe, but if i had someone else interested that i knew that would take care of it and offered a bit less.I would go with that instead of the 30k.

I'd rather see somebody go forward with what i've already done to it.And i'm willing to help the new owner gain new sponsorships.

Get what you want. If you've always dreamed of an ITR, get one! (There are a lot of stock, or close-to-stock, ITRs out there. Try the big websites like autotrader and cars.com as well as h-t.com)

If I had a choice between the STI and ITR knowing what I know now. I would go with the STI. I really dont like the fact that my car is a target for thieves. But it really is up to you. I love my car, but I'm going to have to buy a beater sooner or later.

IMO the Sti and TSX are both great cars, I'd love to own either.

That being said if you've always dreamed of an ITR go for it, I seriously doubt you'll regret it. I've had my R for about a year and a half now (after owning a BB6) and I've never looked back. I know there are faster cars out there but I don't know if I could have more fun in anything less than $50k. Oh yeah, I daily drive a 93 Civic Si, owning two small cars is no big deal. I say go for it

if you're in college and don't have a secure garage then don't get the ITR. when i say secure garage, i mean your own garage and not some underground parking garage where thieves can easily get in. also, if you don't plan on racing the ITR at all at the track or auto-x, then i wouldn't get it. the sti or the tsx would be a better option for college and just having a quick/fast car. personally, i don't like the tsx other than the styling and the reliability.

I honestly dont think much of a differnce between the itr and gsr once you turbo the gsr and drop a race suspension in it its all over, basically the same. Of course we all do know the other little changes there are

Its a track ready car that was limited in production for 4 years here in the states. They were all badged with their own unique ID numbers. I would love to own one. Hopefully sometime in the near future an R will be in my posession.

Dropped GSR,

Hey man don't give up, I was in the same boat you're in right now. My mom and dad wanted me to get a car with basically no miles on it. but I had to fight through just about everyone I know to search for the perfect R for me. A year and a half, and 11 Type R's later I found what I was looking for or destined to have. I've always wanted a R, but thought I couldn't get it. Not true, its all up to you. Like someone said earlier, it may not be the faster car, but it's a Type R. not many people can say they have one. Don't give up man! follow your dream, you won't be disappointed.

Josh

I don't think it should be anyone's "dream" to own a Type R. If you have $30,000 to spend on a car at 20 then things are looking up. Do what you want to do. If we all say buy it and you do because we said so, then you are wasting your money.

If you want an ITR, get one and shop long and hard. There are diamonds in the rough...

I have wanted this car since i was 15. still want it, and probably always will until i own atleast 1. If I find an ITR that I feel is exactly, and i mean exactly what i want then i will buy it. But i will not buy it if i have any second thoughts about the modifications/owner or anything for that matter. I am very picky when it comes to cars

I think "picky" is an understatement for all of us. Not to make it sound like a woman, but you'll know "the one" when you see and drive it. Comments from the peanut gallery welcomed...

I completely agree! At this moment I have been introduced to a 1998 with 21000miles on it in perfect condition and bone stock. That is what i am looking for!
