Default what flows more? T3 .63ar or T4 .58ar

assuming everything else about the turbo is the same.. Which housing housing flows more air?

you cant assume that everything else is equal becaue they are designed to work with different turbine wheels. even though one may flow "more air" does not mean it is necessarily goign to work better with a given turbine wheel. there are lots of other geometry changes that make T3 and T4 housings different. your question is too broad...you need to refine it so that we can answer the real underlaying quesiton that you have....

Thanks Ethalpy,

Basically I'm trying to decide what manifold I want to buy.. And I need to decide if I wanna go T3 or T4 on the exhaust first. Im going to run an SC61 w/ the stage 5 turbine wheel. Either housing will work w/ that whel. Ive seen dyno's w/ the .68ar T4 and it looks too laggy for me, so I thought about trying out the .58ar t4 housing. That way if i need more power later, I could still upgrade w/ out changing manifolds. and also get the cool v-band option on the t4 .. I know that AR is Area/Radius but are the variables the same between the T3 and T4 turbines? Like can u directly compare a .58ar T4 to a .63ar T3? are the area's the same and only the radius' changing? or is the radius and the area both physically different between the t3 & t4 making a comparison based only of a percentage useless.. I havn't been able to find any hard data on the actually physical measurements of area and the radius for t3's and t4's.. so basically I am looking for someone who actually knows whether one flows more then the other assuming the turbine wheels are identical.

The T4 is physically larger, so I'm guessing a .58 T4 will outflow a .63 T3. FWIW, I'm running a .68 A/R PT67 on my car, and i've been driving it to work every day for 2 weeks or so and LOVING every minute of it.

Nice, the PT67 is a nice turbo.. Boost hits pretty hard on that thang huh? Ive never actually seen the two housings physically next to each other, ive only seen .63 T3's and .68 T4's.. but there definitly is a big difference in size.. anyone else have an opinion on this or know the answer?
