Default covered a thousand times but not specific enough........wiring vtec

Ok I searched for 3 hours and did not get one straight answer.

I have installed my d16z6 into my 92 dx hatch

The wiring harness is from my 92 dx

I looked for unconnected wires on the shock tower and found nothing

where are the wires at? Are the inside the wire plastic wrap? I did not see anything hanging loose, and if it comes down to it, I can hard wire it to my P28 ecu

I would wrather do it the easy way. I dont need the retaining clip, I have female banana clips to take care of the connections, just let me know where to find the 3 wires.

1 for the selinoid

2 for the switch (I assume one is just for ground)

wow, no one has replied to your post yet...odd...

anywho..

Since you own a 1992 specifc year civic, VTEC is already integrated from the ecu plugs out to the passengerside shocktower plug. ALL 1992 civics trim models have VTEC pre-wired into the ecu plugs out to the passenger-side shock tower.

Go ahead and check these ecu plugs to see for yourself:

A4 (VT solenoid)
D6 (VTPS)

D3 (knock sensor) needs to be wired in though.

For non-VTEC models, the engine harness side will NOT have VTEC pre-wired into it. This is where you'll have to wire in VTEC yourself or find yourself a 92-95 Si/EX engine harness which has integrated VTEC wiring, and is a straight up plug n' play procedure.

check out this image for the shocktower plug info I'm referring to:

katman thanks for your response.

The question I was asking was on the pressure switch, I only have the male end attached to the head, I did not have the female receptical to plug into it.

I then was asking which male terminal was for ground and which was for the voltage source, I found this out after a detailed picture in orientation to the retaining clip.

but thanks again.

for refrence the top male receptical that is nearest to the locking clip on the green vtec oil pressure switch is GROUND.

BTW vtec is fun!!!! nice wheel spin in 3rd gets the ladies attention
