i personally prefer gm synchromesh. I first had mtf, wasnt bad, then tried redline mtl (was great at first, but then got real chitty), then i tried gm synchromesh, and now my car goes into all my gears like butter!
Do you guys actually change your fluid as suggested (I forget what it is, every 30 or 60 K miles)? A friend of my dads had an older accord that was like a 94 in which he NEVER changed the tranny fluid. Then he decided to change it even though it shifted fine, and then it immedietly started grinding when shifting and no fluid could fix it....
I dont know if its one of those, leave it unless its broke, type of things...

Every one of these threads that you look through is gonna be the same:
Honda MTF: Very good, relatively cheap...
GM Syncromesh Friction Modified: Slightly better, but expensive as f00k.
Depends on how much you wanna spend. But the senseless arguing goes for DAAAAAAAAAAYS. But waht it comes down to has been posted above.

its hard to research on the gm syncromesh because their hasnt been any long term problems yet... but there are rumors saying that it gets rid of your syncros faster then normal if you run pure syncromesh. (im not sure if this is correct but heard this from someone) some mix honda mtf with syncromesh if they have the grinding problem and then some stick with honda mtf. im not sure im just throwing ideas not here to start ****. but i wouldnt put nothing except honda mtf unless it was grinding bad... do whatever u want to do. good luck

What'd i say?
Neither one of these posts say anything constructive, rather "i use this so you should too". If one of them said, "in my 93gsr i used mtf for 10k miles and developed a slight third gear grind, but then switched to syncromesh and it went away" WOULD make more sense
However, if you baby the shifter into gear MOST grindin will go away for a while...so there's still no constructive real life evidence.

Number one reason why I hardly post anymore, guys like you. Wait, you're all of 18 years of age, now I understand.

Honda MTF for the most part. But on certain transmissions (whether it be built with a specific LSD or one in a higher end car, say a S2000 or NSX), we use Motul Gear 300 75W90 gear oil. It's full synthetic and comes by the liter (2 liters is all you need for a Honda tranny). And in the S2000 or NSX, you do notice a difference over the Honda MTL with shifting and how smooth it feels afterwards. Only downside is the price, and being able to find it (we carry it) but at $10/liter (damn Frenchies), it's worth it IMO.

You're jsut upset that i pointed out that you stated nothing. The point that i'm 18 has absolutely nothing to do with what kind of transmission fluid works better

Sorry, I swore I'd never fall for a pimply-faced teen with a witty tongue and snappy come backs.
