Default Water temperature for turbo b-series??

I got a fully built Gs-R motor w/ golden eagle sleeves and the water temperature is at 193 on the hondalogger and will go up to 200 when running hard. Talking with some of my friends with DSM’s and Nissans with SR20’s they said my water temp should be around 170-180. Just wanted to see what fellow turboed Honda guys water temps are at and see what you did to get that. I got a 170 thermostat w/ a fluidyne radiator in a 95 civic coupe. Now I know that spoon has a 160 thermostat and a 160 probe but they are $80 each wanted to try and find a cheaper way.

Yeah thats what i was kinda figuring it stays at 193 and goes up to 200. When we were tuning idle and partial throttle jay the 1/2 owner of hybridynamics said that he thoguht it wouldnt hurt to get the coolant temp down to 170-180 range so i got a 170 thermostat but need to do more research on the fan switch but i was just curious to see what everyone elses water temp was. I saw the spoon stuff but thats a little pricey for me i just got a 170 thermostat for 8 bux so at worst i might have to get the spoon thermoswitch. See ya at the itr expo.

watch out with the lower temp thermos. they tend to not let the car get warm enuff.

my car stays right about 184-198 degrees most of the time with stock switch ,thermostat, and radiator. When it does go to 200 and over is usually upper 95 degrees outside air temperature, then i drive my hemi with a/c.
