Default JDM OEM intake:::: where does it go?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...38634

i was wondering where the air would enter from, if that's a true jdm 4th gen stock intake, why would they put it behind the driver's side wheel well instead of at the front near a nostril?

i guess i now know why honda put a circle there on usdm preludes and didn't drill it out. once again, japan gives us the finger

it goes on the passenger side, and the bottom thing on the filter box is the intake resonator, to keep noise level down, that will need to go under the car, take the wheel well liner off and then align the top into the hole and bolt it on, then put the air box on top of the hole and plug the tube into the throttle body.

There is no difference between the 92-96 jdm and usdm intakes though...

did you not check out that link. 902-96 usdms didn't come with that extended air intake. usdm stops at the filter. that pic shows it continuing...

well, if you haveve ever removed your resonator, you'd know that getting that "extension" out is a complete bitch. at least for me it was. the usdm and jdm intakes are the same, and the resonator comes before the filter, so it wouldnt just stop at the filter box...

thats a stock 4th gen intake. the air enters from that random tube that comes off the resonator. (that big black box below the air filter housing)

I know not to trust the average ebay seller, but the guy was passing it off as a 4th gen stock intake...

you should go for the jdm type s airbox it flows better than the us airbox and it still looks stock.

Or you can hide a cold air intake in the stock rubber piping and call it a day.

U think that the plastic would shield the CAI from heat? or would it just be better to wrap the pipe?

It was an idea I've seen on another Prelude... pretty cool IMO.
