leaking oil....need help..
well, I kinda figured out where my oil are leaking from.... I kinda have a feeling it came from the oil pan, being wether overtighten it or not tight enough...
I came to this conclusion since underneath the car, I found traces of oil from downpipe, oil pan ( drops of oil on the oil pan itself), shift linkage even to my exhaust piping towards the resosnator ( I have a greddy SP), unless oil drips and the wind push it over towards the area of shift linkage, I am pretty convinced it's the oil pan.
now here my question, sI replaced the oil pan gasket when replacing the oil pan, should I replaced the gasket again ? or can I re-use the one I put on last weekend(new one) ? second, I was informed to just use hondabond around the corners of the pan, is it true ? it kind of make sense, but I want to hear other's as well...
lastly, I am thinking of using hondabond and liquid copper gasket as well, is this a good idea ? or should I use hondabond on the gasket and once it's installed, then I can slap the copper gasket around the edges where the pan is mounted...
BTW, I am planning to buy a torque wrench to torque the oil pan bolts..
TIA

Stan, yes use hondabond, that should be plenty good. Make sure you get a good amount on all areas of the gasket, I would say to go ahead and reuse that gasket unless its torn or damaged. Also do not overtorque the bolts, 90% of the time, leaks from the oil pan result from overtighten down the bolts or no hondabond.
