Kinda a vague question, but my display light on my deck went out earlier today. Does anyone know what the problem is and/or how to fix it? Thanks.

 

Could be something internal, but before that check all the wires.

 

is it a d-mask face? the one that flips? also, does it power up?

 

Yeah it's the one that flips. It powers up and plays, but I can't see anything on the display.

 

I have had the same problem with my eXcelon, I have to reset the power to get it to come back, I sent it in but not sure why its doing it.

 

It happened becuase kenwood is a **** company...all their equip. new is nice but as soon as its in your car for say a month something goes wrong. For HU stick with pioneer or alpine.

i can almost agree with that.. kenwood does have some nice unit but i have seen more of them come back to the store defective then any other headunit.. the flip "mask" one had lots of problems b/c it would disconnect the small data ribbon cable and mess the whole unit it.. alpine is very nice, ive always had alpine myself and never had problems and ive had a couple alpines (i loved the new ones, so i always upgraded, not becuse it was broken)

 

same thing happened to my kenwood deck, it was the motorized one that flips itself, the link cable probably broke just like mine, i had to get a new deck, you're going to have to send it out to get it fixed or just get a new deck

 

yea same thing jus happened to mine a week ago, now it ownt flip and all my **** is messed up on it...kenwood SUCKS!!! anyone looking to sell a cd player?

 

Try resetting it and cleaning the contacts. Usually your **** outta luck though. Its prolly the faceplate which will cost you more than half the price of the radio to replace.....
