Default LS turbo

i tried searching but LS is too small to be included in the search and i couldnt find anything for LS specifically...how do LS motors handle boost?, is it a good motor for turbo setup? how reliable is it...what turbo kit would be best for it, and also any numbers would be greatly appreciated

Default Re: LS turbo (Sl0wEH2)

the name of the motor is not LS

its B18A or B18B .. those are the non vtec b series that came in the RS,LS,GS, SE, integra models .. b18a was from pre 94.(try searching that)

and yes its a good motor for boost due to its compression ratio.. its reliability is determined to how well it is tuned and or what type of fuel/management you use.

It is a very good motor for boost, but I have found that honda rings don't like boost too much. I broke 2 ringlands after 2000 miles. Timing was retarded .75 degree per psi and I was tuned to an 11.8 air-fuel ratio at WOT under full boost with AEM EMS. I didn't beat on it either. But thats just me. Some people have been boosting for years on stock blocks and are very hard on them. Drop some new pistons in if you can. If you don't have the cash for internal make sure you don't skimp on fuel management.

Good luck
