To anyone who has bled their coolant.
I've really been messaging a lot lately. Sorry guys, im just so curious about soo many things...
About the coolant: sorry if this might be repetitive... but how long does it take to let the coolant bleed? Should it be right away, or could it take many mins? how do i know.
From what i gathered this is how its done...
-wait till your car is cool
-Start up the car, turn on the heating full blast, and open the bleeder screw and wait..
now whats considered a constant stream coming out of the screw? and do i have the right procedure?
Thanks for your patience guys...

ususally the way i blead the collant system, after a complete draining, was to slide the temp thing inthe passanger compartment to hot to open the valve for the heater core. then just fill the radiator till it takes not more. then i would start the car let it run for a minute. open up the radiator cap and fill it to the top agian. then afte that i would drive it normally, and if your really **** you can check a 2nd time.
the reason im asking this is cause im having idling problems with the car and someone told me to bleed the coolant. So what i did was bled it and it was a lot beter... lets say 90%... so then what i did was i got greedy and wanted it at 100% so i tried to do it some more, and now its went sour again. i just wanna know how to completely do it, or should i just bring it to an auto mech and ask them to drain it, clean it and fill it....

well this is just me and i don't want to put down who ever told you this.. but i realy don't think you idle has anything to do with your collant problem, for example:
the other day i was driving and because im a retard when i put the hybrid together thats in my Sig, i didn't clamp a radiator hose down
on me cuz i was lazy.. but anyway it popped off and all my collant came out.. maybe there was a tiny bit left but basically nothing,, the car ran and idled like a champ perfectly right up until i had to turn it off when i realized i was major over heating. iw ould search in the archives and troubleshoot other things it could be
unless you can give me a scientific explination of how coolant air bubles affects idle and why my car still ran fine with NO collant.

its just that more than a couple of ppl have told me this.... thats why im saying it... i dont know whats wrong with my car... ive tried sooo many things... Ive changed the wires, plugs, i cleaned the IACV, changed the timing belt, and nothing is helping...
thing is my low idle only happens occasionally .... its not every stop that it dips low... its only sometimes, and its puzzling... at this point, i just feel like taking it to honda and saying "here, find the problem and fix it" cause its annoying...
everytime my car idles low, it smells of gas, and if i have the heating on, it'll come through the vents and stink up the car.... So what i tried doing is raising the idle a little bit to 1.000 rpm, and now when it hits 7 or 800 it starts to shake again and the same thing happens... im sure even if i raised my idle to 3,000rpm, when it goes down to 2,700rpm, it'll shake and start smelling again.
and what started happening now, is sometimes when the car is just started, the rpm will bounce from 1,500 to 1800 back and forth for a little while or till i rev my engine high... and then it'll cease and then thats when the bad idling occurs again...
man i give up... this has been puzzling me for months, and at the time i dont have 300 or 400$ to spend at Honda fixing it....

Ive got the same problem, i cant explain it. When i did my oil change and changed viscosity to 10w-30- It helped a bit. Im replacing my radiator, hoses, thermostat, Cap, as soon as i can. I think i got a bubble in that bitch, and all the cooling stuff is old. (roughly 8-10 yrs old).
My car was doing that too...It would rev up and down between 1500 & 1800rpm..What fixed it my case was doing the coolant flush..now it idles like a champ, so smooth you can barely tell its running..so I would say you need to do it again properly or have a shop do it..or possibly a new radiator..

I stilldont understand how cooant could affect idle. Myold h22 had a cracked block and would run out of coolant in like 300miles so it would never have enough coolant and I never bledd it and it ran fine.
I think this is a figment of peoples imaginations

its been a prettly long time... i changed my fuel filter from Canadian Tire.... its no OEM though.... ive had the injectors cleaned there also... Its funny though, when its idling low, what ill do is rev the engine close to redline and it'll stop for a while, almost like its unclogging it...
