Default Question About Dyno Tuning and High Altitude

Ok I want to get a Hondata s200 installed and tuned by RPM NYC in Queens, NY.
I live in Mt. Pocono, PA which is at ~1800-2000ft. above sea level
I also have ****ty mileage thanks to that

heres my question:

If I get it tuned in Queens..which is pretty damn close to sea level if not right on it and then come back to PA will I have a problem?
will my car run even worse since its tuned at sea level?

this is a big concern of mine
I really dont trust much people up here in PA(ive had very bad experiences with shops here in PA and I dont want another one) and I heard that RPM NYC knows their stuff so Id rather go to them to get it tuned
there is this one place that is about a 1 1/2 hrs. away from me but I havent heard anything about them
they do have Hondata tuning services on a DynaPack though but again...havent heard anything about them

TIA

Default Re: Question About Dyno Tuning and High Altitude (MugenPoweredLude)

If the tuner tunes part throttle and not just a few WOT pulls, then it should work fine at any altitude. Usually the problem is getting it tuned at altitude then going to sea level, because at altitude you can't tune the parts of the fuel/ignition maps that can get used at sea level. So, tell the guy you are going to use the car at altitude and he needs to tune the entire fuel/ignition maps. Hondata has some wide band O2 tuning info on their site. btw, 2000 is nothing. ABQ is at 6000; NA engines loose about 20% of their power up here..
