Default how to wire a shift light?

ok my brother wants to put a shift light in his car but he wants to have it unnoticable and not have to have one of thos big *** monster tachs. is there a way to wire up a shift light to go into one of the spare lights (like the check engine light ect) in the cluter? he would be willing to buy a tach just for the shift light he says so what are his options?

autometer and lot of companies out there sell juss the shift light. there are also ways to have a spare light turn on... but i believe u need to have ur ecu chipped or messed around wit. hondata has that option.

sqwirel boi is correct, they sell just the shift light, with different plugs, aka pills that you can put in to have it light up at different rpms. There is a wire on the distributor that you can hook it up to. Then after that, you just need a common ground and a power source. If you follow the distributor wire back, it will lead you close to the fire wall to make the install alittle more clean

you should just put the shift light in the vent or somethign so you dont see it but youll see the flash comeing out of the vent.... just an idea to keep the shift light thing out of sight but youll still see the flash

All you need is an RPM activated switch, and you'll be able wire it to any light you'd like (e.g., a light in the cluster, a separate light, etc.).
