But being that it is from OBX, then I'd be seriously iffy about buying one.

Kennyvb, That is exactly what I did first. There is no oil pan to be found on that site.

There is nothing wrong with the OEM oil pan. I am choosing to go with an after market one because of capacity and baffling that thay offer. The extra oil will help keep the engine cooler and other benefits.

I am not that familiar with OBX products and will believe the majority of you that the products in general are not that great. But folks we are talking about an oil pan here. Aluminum and welds, it holds oil. So how bad could it possible be? Warping of the seal surface is about the only issue that should be a problem.

Still looking for a good link or supplier phone number.

Thanks,
AB

lol....how bad could it be? baffling for when you take a long or many turn it allows the oil to stay at the oil pick-up, i would't trust obx or any other company that doesn't have a good rep in performance products. but as the saying goes you get what you pay for. i recomend mugen, or maraso oil pans.

Point taken I bought a Moroso oil pan on ebay last night for 233.00. After you guys got me thinking about it. I don't see much difference in a oil pan. but when you consider the imprtance of the pick up all of a sudden the quality of the pan does in fact make a differance. If its out of tolerance the pick up will not function properly. Not to mention the strength and positioning of the pick up itself.

So as the man said "you get what you pay for" is on the mark.

Thanks for the wake up call a hundred or so more dollars isn't squat when you consider the investment into the engine.

if you buy a "performance" oil pan, meaning better capacity and pickup for oil... then its better getting one other than OEM. but if you get an OBX cheap quality oil pan type part... i wouldnt do it.

A sound conclusion

If only people would arrive at a similar decision when considering those pesky Meng style turbo manifolds
