Anyone with 1st gen CRUSHED DSM BOV?
Ok heres the deal guys....I have had my greddy kit on for about 1 year now, and recently i had some leaks in my intercooler piping and BOV weld. I have fix the leaks but now the BOV sounds completly different. Before it would sound like...
Pssssssssssttttttttttttttttttttttttt.....(1 solid sound)
Now with the leaks fixed it goes
taa taa taa taa (3 or 4 little sounds)
Is there something wrong with my BOV or is that what it is suppose to sound like without leaks?

it should be a woosh
not a choppy sound. i took mine off the car and cleaned it like turbo e said. there was a lot of crap all over it, but its questionable any of it would affect performance.

if you get the 1st gen it can handle up to about 17-18 psi and not have issues. if you crush it, you 8 out of 10 times have issues exactly liek your saying or worse. you can also look around for a lancer bov. it looks exactly the same as a 1st gen mitsu, but it's capable of holdig like 28psi w/o issues from what i've been told so far from knowing sources.

just as a heads up make sure the vac line to the bov isn't leaking at either end or kinked. with a bad vac source my 1g didnt open up right and i got compressor surge with my sohc greddy, which sounded just like a flutter. apparently one end of the vac line leaked slightly, and once i zip tied it tight, the blow off went back to clean.
