Default blown headgasket but good compression results?

i've been slowly losing coolant on a regular basis, so i did a compression test and got 240 psi across the board. does this automatically rule out a bad headgasket? or is it possible to have good compression results even with a bad headgasket? i checked my coolant and oil and they both look clean

Hmmmm.....if your still receiving good compression across the board i would tend to think that its not the head gasket.

no oil in coolant either? I'd look for a leak

believe me i looked for a leak. i even changed the radiator, didn't help. someone told me its possible to have a slight headgasket leak, without the usual symptoms like milky oil and overheating. dunno if its true, but i'm thinking that might be whats happening in my case.

its possible that the coolant could leak into the oil gallerys throught the headgasket but not too common. What kind fo headgasket? stock?

Also coolant could leak into the oil pan through the bottom of the sleeves if they are aftermarket

Check your water pump. I kept smelling coolant after I would drive my car. I looked everywhere for a leak. It was loosing coolant also. When I changed my timing belt and water pump, I found out that the pump was leaking. It would be almost impossible to see it. look around the side of your timing belt cover on the rear of the engine. You might see some coolant there.

coolant pressure test could narrow down location of the leak. you can also get it done at dealer for $30-40, hopefully its nothing cracked internally. look around/under the car, anywhere along coolant lines, radiator for leaks.

You may want to check the intake manifold where the coolant passage connects to the head. I've had a leak there before and the engine was actually consuming small amounts of coolant. The gasket was bad.

*have noticed resvoir empties quickly. but it isn't the oem unit.
*car does not overheat. nor has it ever since i have owned it.
*OEM head gasket.
*hondata IM gasket
*checked exhaust pipe, only soot and condensation. wouldn't there be a light oil film in there if it is bad rings?

any insight would be fannn tastic.

i would check that for a leak, also a leakdown test would be more accurate for a blown headgasket as sometimes the leak is so minor that it will only do it at high rpm's

go to autozone, rent the "block tester" then buy the blue fluid that goes with the device. about 30-40 to rent. and you pay $10 for the liquid. talk to the manager because majority of the young kids at the counter will not know wtf your talking about...

cylinder device that goes over the coolant opening, and the blue liquid inside device will turn yellow or stay blue.

blue liquid will turn to yellow if you have a blown headgasket.

how does this work??

gases from the engine escape into the antifreeze ( a bubble in other words) and the device picks up the gases then changing the fluid from blue to yellow.

there was a leakdown test performed a few months ago, while it was smoking and the range was between 2-3% on all of them! this motor seems to be healthy. but i know theres gotta be something.
