Default Listenin for VTEC

Just the other day I got everything wired up on my 92 CX Y8 swap and got the ECU swapped out (P28) Me and my friend tapped the VTEC solenoid wire and used a test light in the car while we were driving just to verify it was getting a signal and it was, so I know I am going into VTEC, however I cannot audibly hear it

I owned a 89 CRX Si that I swapped a Z6 into and even with a crappy intake and exhaust I could hear VTEC VERY well, but this Y8 running stock elbow with cone intake (ghetto I know-but I bought it like this) and complete exhaust (Header, cat-delete, thermal cat-back) I cant hear

I know its not "important" to hear VTEC as long as its working but I am just wondering how many of you guys can actually hear yours running SOHC's

I could hear mine on the 93 Si even when it had stock everything. Did you bother to get the car up to temp first?

ive got an SOHC vtec in my 95 civvy, and u cant as much hear it as feel the push. You can generally hear it more in DOHC (apparently). I suppose if you were listening hard enough with your head out the window you might hear it, but over an exhaust system u mite have a bit of trouble. ive got a pod filter just put in mine and thats really made it impossible to hear now. dont wory about it, if it works it works.
by the way, i drive an aussie spec and they are slightly different to US so that might also make a diff.

i had a d16zc and i could hear the v-tec. Wasn't anything like a DOHC v-tec sound, But i could hear it alittle bit. I couldnt really FEEL it kick in either. Sohc v-tec is no fun I had a aem v2 and catback exhaust when i had my sohc in the car. A after market intake would deff make your v-tec more audible. .. o well, if you wanna hear it more, get new cams with bigger v-tec lobes! lol

When I still had my Y8 there was a very very slight crossover change. After that, you can just tell b/c it still feels like your increasing in power with revs.
