Default Speaker problem

I own a 93 del sol SI. I recently purchased 6x9" Alpine type R speakers for the rear of it. Problem is 6 1\2" speakers are what go in the back and some gay bracket. I was wondering if there is any brackets out that would let the 6x9" fit in the back.

I don't know if they are any out there, but maybe you can modify a set? Does it look like you can modify them?

Yeah, it does seem like i could make something up to make it fit, but the only problem is it looks like you gotta cut into the paneling to clear the woofer. I really didn't want to do that.

Also, which speaker would sound better, the component 6 1\2" type R, or the 2-way 6x9" type R? like, which one has better lows and highs.

Hey 6X9's won't fit in the rear. The doors and the rear is 6in speakers in them. I have 2 sets of Boston Acoustics RX67's in my del sol and I had a problem installing them in the rear. The problem I had was with the corners in the rear, I didn't have enough space because the magnets were too big and the magnets were sticking to the metal and would not fit. So when I installed the speakers in the doors the magnets were to big to fit in the basket so I just took the baskets out and they fit fine. So I took my dremel tool and cut off the rear part from the baskets and just kept the ring where you put the screws in. I used the rings as a spacer for the rear speakers and the speakers fit perfectly. You just have to drill the holes in the spacer you made to match up the holes on the metal ring where you have to mount the speakers in the back. Hope this wasn't confusing, I tried to explain it the best way I could. So just consider magnet size when buying speakers for the rear.

return them and get S-Type. They come in more sizes, fit better depth wise, and offer a crisper sound.
