Default b16 problems

I have a 91 hatch with a jdm first gen b16a, headers, intake, and exhaust. It runs great when your running wide open, but when your just chillin trying to maintain speed it misses, spits, and backfires. Ive changed the plugs, cap, button, and wires I also have run 2 tanks of injection cleaner...any help would be most helpful..

Have the timing checked.....On a B16 if the timing is even off one or two cam gear teeth then it will run like crap low end and OK at top end....Get it dialed in Perfectly and it will drive like a totally different car....My car is doing the same thing and will be fixed next week....

Is the idle fluctuating as in not staying steady? LMK.

Try unplugging your o2 sensors. IF that clears it up then you know where your problems lie.

Yeah, definately check the o2's. Sounds like a case of the xed up sensors. Ryan

I'm not throwing any codes, and I have advanced the timing as far as I can. I have the O2 sensors jumped could that be a prob.

the primary and the secondary o2 sensors are spliced into one and run back into the jdm 4into1 header.

What he said. If you unplug the O2 sensor the ecu will go into safe mode. It will run a little rich, but if your problem goes away you will know it is the O2. My O2's were bad and I had the exact same symptoms.

Good luck.

Shop jumped mine at the ECU and I have no problems. My 2nd O2 sensor
just acts like a plug for my cat.
