Default need tranny help - UPDATE

ok here is the deal, i started to have some tranny problems a few months ago, 2nd gear syncros were bad and when at a stop light it was hard to shif into 1st.i replaced the syncros and that fixed one problem, evrone said i needed a new clutch to fix the 1st gear problem, so i replace ithe clutch with a new clutch masters stage 4 and cltch masters flywheel, still hard to shift into 1st ,any ideas? shifts into gear no problem with car off.

could it pssibly be associated with my shif linkage,? ths shifter it self? dc sports

i replaced the shif linkage, didnt work though, did make the rest of the gears shift smoother,im going to replace the 1st gears next week, ill see if that worksModified by RACESMART at 4:18 PM 5/14/2004

Not that I think you do not know what you are doing, But when you put the gear sets back in did you install all the thrust washers. With out them the car will be hard to shift into gear because the 2 shafts are not lined up.

I had a similar problem with my 96 civic when I put on an ATC extreme clutch kit. There is a bolt on the clutch pedel that goes through the flywheel. You have to lossen that nut and adjust it. I forget what which way to adjust it. Just play with it. What you doing is freeing up some room for the clutch to move releasing the pressure on the flywheel.
