Default Axle Nut - Will heating it up ruin my wheel bearings?

Got a stubborn axle nut. I hit it with my impact gun and broke a break bar trying to get it off.

Its the drivers side. I have heard to try some heat on it, but Im worried about damaing my wheel bearings.

Am i overreacting or if i use a torch can i hurt it?

i would just make sure that you disribute the ehat really evenly or try, doign the opposite and getting the axle really cold but thats usually harder or take it to a shop i have got a impact gun that will break that bad boy lose

I looked in my local yellow pages for a store that rents out air tools but no luck

It would be nice to have but lots $$ for me

go to sears and buy one of their craftsman torque bars. then make sure you have an axel nut socket (6 points not the 12). then put it on the nut and stand on it and start jumping. i have done this with 3 or 4 different cars and my torque bar hasn't broke yet. if it does then i get another anyway....craftsman is lifetime! it is always the driver side too.....
