Default Which is better a 3inch straight pipe or open downpipe for my setup?

I'm planning on getting acustom 3 inch straight pipe made to bolt on tot he cat for the track. I have a 2001 gsr sedan with greddy turbo kit. Will that be better then just having a open downpipe or should I just use open downpipe. Right now I'm using factory exahsut on normal city driving. Can't stand the noise but at the track I just drop the exhaust. Which is better 3inch straight pipe or open dp. Thanks

Open downpipes are illeagle to use at any of the tracks around here, make sure they will let you run with an open downpipe. But in response to your question, depending on your setup you should free up a couple hidden hp..

At the track here in Sacramento, I believe an open downpipe would surpass the 95decibel sound level limits. Might be the same at your track.
