Default Question about Oil Coolers

I already have oem piece, but i want to add aftermarket. If i'm to mount it inside the engine bay, like underneath the charge pipe, will it still work as sufficient?

And, for these that run oil cooler with temp gauge, how much of temperature drop do you get during regular driving and hwy?

Make sure you mount it where it will see airflow. I put mine between my intercooler and radiator. With a 180 degree thermostat I see temps of 180-190 on the street, and around 230 on the track with 5 lbs of boost.
