i went to shells to fill up gas and i accidently filled up mah s2000 gas tank wit PLUS (89 octane) gas instead of PREMIUM (91 octane)...this is the first time i did it...is it bad for mah car??

 

use a little common sense man...yes. ever heard of something called knocking, pinging or detonation? i feel sorry for you car...

 

should i go get octane booster or juss run it out dis time

that movie was seriously the worst thing that EVER happend to the import community. its ricey kids like you wanting to be like johnny tran that have made life worse for people w/ TASTEFULLY modified cars. i know that before the movie came out, my car ( a with all the mods under the hood, but on the exterior nothing more than a slight drop and an exhaust) rarely got pulled over, unless i was doing stupid like speeding...or failing to yield to a red light . but after that movie, wow....i'm not sure if you other guys experienced it...but cops would pull you over for ANYTHING that they suspected was illegal. mostly exhausts. i hope you didn't get that car because 1) its a honda, and its a convertible...and its a pretty car or 2) you're a kid with rich parents that got you whatever you wanted. aye yi yi, whats the world coming to these days

Knocking pinging? Are you serious? Is the stock f20c some high powered turbocharged motor? No way in hell will the motor ping from 89 octane, the ECU will automatically adjust to the lower octane and will compensate for it. Engineers are smarter than your average joes.

 

Umm....for the ecu to retard the ignition timing, it needs a knock sensor right? and for a knock sensor to tell the ecu that there is knocking going on....there is knocking right? Mmm...so wait, it will knock. or maybe i'm just crazy. even if you're lucky enuff not to experience any knocking where ricer boy lives (corona, trust me i know the temps get very hot out here) the performance that you're going to get from the motor is going to be very very....well, what can i say, dull.

Certainly not detonation, Filling up with 89 octane will do NO harm as long as he doesnt make it a habbit.

s2k's have knock sensors s when you run shitty gas like that it changes the ignition timing to account for the lower grade of fuel.

you dont really think that honda dealers put premium gas in s2k's... do you?

ok i'm prtyt drunk right now. so please llbare with me. knock sensor is basically a "microphone" that is tuned to pick up vibration and audible frequencies that usually is knocking. buuuuut then again, sometimes knocki sensors pick up audilbe notes that aren't really knocoking and retard the timing anyways. what u said, basically makes it sound like a knock sensor is an atual fuel sensor, and not a mic.
