Default New to Stick Shift

Hi,
I have an 04 RSX-S (bought in Mar 04) and I want to know if I'm messing up my transmission in any sort of way. When the temperature is cold I have trouble shifting from 2nd to 3rd... for some reason the car likes to stay BETWEEN neutral and 3rd causing a grinding/ slipping noise, then when I press the clutch in again and push to 3rd it goes in.

Am I supposed to put a lot of force in the shift when the car is cold, or is something wrong with the gearbox/transmission already? It's easy to shift when its hot outside.

Any insight would be appreciated, thanks.

seems to be the problem with rsx's. warm up your car a little more. press in your clutch all the way before shifting...

Have fun... take it to the dealer and get the synchro's replaced under warranty. I am sure there is a TSB somewhere here or in Club RSX.

Yeah, your clutch may not be down all the way. Just shift slow until you really get the hang of it.
