Oil ring replacement?

Anyone ever had this done?
My compression check yeilded (230, 220, 235, 240) but my car is burning oil pretty bad. How much should I pay to get the rings replaced?

it will be expensive to have done.. compression looks fine..

define "pretty bad"..

Remove block, remove pistons, (bore?)hone, install new rings,

I payed $1000 for bal&bp with new bearings. I did all the removal and re-install when my oil rings went bad.

My post was to lead you into more problem determination before pulling the motor apart. Unless you are absolutely sure it is the rings causing the problem, or dont need to pay anyone to do the work, do some more PD.

you sure it's not leaking from somewhere?

also, a lead-down test might be worthwhile.. would probably tell you for sure if your rings need replacing.. how many miles are on your R?
