i have the viper 790xv alarm, everything was working fine for about 2 months then all of a sudden the remote start stopped working, i checked all the fuses and everything was ok, thena about a week later the unlock feature of the alarm stopped working, so i sent the brain and remote back in and received a new brain and remote, the remote start worked and the car would lock but woudln't unlock, then the next day the car would lock and unlock but the remote start would not work, could someone tell me WHATS THA DEAL, is there an electrical problem somewhere???

well i used t taps for all the connections, i don't know what could be the problem, like right now my car will not unlock, when i try to unlock i can hear a sort of clicking noise inside the door like the lock is trying to unlock but doesn't(its like the signal isn't strong enough to unlock the door), but if i use my factory transmitter the door will unlock???

If it's a Honda with pre-existing power locks, you shouldn't need the 451M. It's "safer" to use it, but the honda lock and unlock wires DEI and all them list are typically the ones that control the door lock relays, which means tagging into them right off of the brain is fine.

T-Taps suck! That could be your problem. They tend to cut the wires instead of just "tapping" into them. I'd double check all those taps and make sure the problem isn't with one of them.

Well the install could be the problem. as stated before T-Taps can
be the worst connections...because the break the wire instead of
splicing into it. I'm gonna say the install is the cause of it. Why...
because my wifes 10 year old Viper 550 rstart/alarm is still working
in her Jetta. Its basically the same alarm only with a new reciever. The
t-taps just broke the wire after 4 months...they do place a severe
strain on the wires.

Installation is 98% of the job...micro processors have very low
failure rates in most cases. You basically went the cheap route and
have problems..My advice:
Buy a new harness from a DEI Dealer and start over and do it RIGHT
this time..

have fun.

Or they just made a bad connection, and it finally vibrated enough after 4 months that they don't make contact anymore. T-taps bad. Soldier (and shrink wrap)good.

the problem is with the remote im assuming you have the grey 2 way remote those remotes have a problem that dei knows about you should be able to take the remote back to where you broght it to upgrade it to the new blue remotes that dont have any problems we have had alot of problems with tose remotes and once we swapped them out the alarm works fine
