Get a new belt, and a new tensioner. Belt slap is pretty common in H series motors, though not very common on the h23a and its manual tensioner. Don't reuse the timing belt, if it snaps, kiss your motor good bye.

yeah its snap but i was told that u can save the motor or somehting to that. But they told me that if i keep trying to turn the motor on its not good and then the engine is bad but i did not. I was trying to turn the car on and then SNAP and it got quite it was kinda funny cause i was HUH. Then they were like OH your belt snap but lucky u did not try and turn the eninge back on u can still save it just set everything back to Normal or 0 they said. So i mean what do they mean how do i do that i dont know nothing about Timing or should i just take it to a Place to get it Fixed?

Unless you want to spend a weekend figuring out your engine, take it somewhere to get it done. The TBelt change gets easier with practice, but the first time is a pain. If you know what TDC means and how to set it, then you may be able to start on this. If you start on it you must finish it. You will need a manual.

for hondas if your time belt breaks then so does your valves, they get bent then your piston rings get all fuKED up then you gotta fix all of it. Make sure you always replace the o rings too.

Definetely not true. I have been fortunate enough to repair several Hondas that the belt snapped and did not bend any valves. I have repaired countless others with out ever having any ring damage.

There are marks on the cam sprockets, the crankshaft, and the balance shafts for everything to line up when you are doing a timing belt or setting the mechanical timing. I am not real sure what the ignition timing is off hand. It is probably somewhere around 10-15 degrees BTDC

so i am confused now which belt do i need? i mean because #17 in the photo is what broke. i mean do i have to replace that little belt too its #11? and what the hell is that belt anyways?

Wrong! How would your rings get messed up? It is an interfearencemotor but... They do not always break or should I say bend. Usually will have indentures in the piston that are hit. does not effect the rings. I have 20k on my beater prelude bought for 800 bucks with broken belt had jap spec head layin around in the basment. Got aheadgasket kit and presto H23vtec beater

Okay i am trying to take that bolt of where they Pully is connected, but i have nothing strong enough to take it off. i have an Air gun but it is not strong enough either. is there a better way i can take it off? If u dont know where i am talking about look at the Pic and its # 1 there is a bolt right their i need help getting off what is a good way? Please help.
I had to use two people to do it. I used the PS belt (since I don't reeeaaally need it) and wrapped it around the pulley for grip, then one of us gripped the pulley with some big *** pliers, and I used a big breaker bar on the bolt (with my feet, kicking at it). When it came loose I kicked him hard, but oh well, don't tell your helper this may happen
That little belt is the balance belt. Also, don't forget tp use one of the Tbelt cover screws to lock the adjusters in place - that bolt hole to the left of part #18.
