Default best rpm for launching??

well i bought my car in feb.. and it's finally broken in, so i decided to take it to the track and run it.. well i could only pull off a 14.6... i did however have major problems launching the car.... i'd get off the line really well and then it'll seem like it's stalling and then it'll kick in again..... i was just wondering what rpm would be ideal to launch this car so i can get a smooth run...

Everyone does say that the S is not meant for drag. But who cares its fun. Launch at 7000rpm if you have new tires. About 6000 to 6500 if worn.
WARNING please dont blame me if your differential explodes. It has happened to people. Not all the time but enough to be worried everytime you drop that clutch in VTEC.

Well, one thing, launching your car is very important for autocrossing as well. The other is its going depend on your clutch and tires. And if you're running a strong clutch and sticky tires, your diff might become the weakpoint. On stock everything I launched at 6k. With victoracers I launched a 7500.

that's the reason why you feather the clutch..

don't just dump it or you'll be **** out of luck.

Yes, feather it. It makes a lovely smell. And that ain't your tires.

in my opinion it depends on

your current suspension setup
track conditions (hot, cold, smooth, bumpy, sticking, or slipping)
your clutch (does it grab hard slip etc.)
tire pressure(have you tried airing down)
current tire( sticky non sticky)
feathering the gas and clutch

those are the thigns you need to be aware of and play with there is no perfect launch rpm its somehtign you need to play with yourself

look for 2.0 or below 60 foot times and you know your doing good.

ya, either SOL or a half second ahead. If you're not racing on a competitive level then there's no reason to dump. In autoxing it's important to dump though, and I'd imagine it is for drag racing as well.

Umm, I don't really see how that helps the situation?

fluid does not protect the diff from shock/abuse.
