Default Ebay coilovers???

are these ok just for the sole purpose of lowering? i dont have a lot of cash and i want to lower a bit im not looking for any improvement in handling or anything. Do you think these things would actually just break?i'm buying tokico blues to go with them if that helps?

Go for it. It would be good enough since you just plan on lowering your car. My brother got a set and they are alright for awhile. Don't lower it alot since you might blow the blues.

if i just lower it 1.5 would it even be necessary to buy new shocks or could my stock ones handle it?

your stockers could handle that much of a drop, it just depends on the shape of them

i don't see a problem w/ shitbox coilovers but save ur money tokico blues are not worth it just a little better than stock save for something better.

p.s. ebay sells some yellow shocks(RED) for about 100 a good deal way better than blues and adjustable height my friend has them on his 98 hatch for the "ballers on a budget" u might want to check em out.

cut springs ride better than coilovers. if you want non bouncy coilovers, go with ground controls.

yeah theres no way cut springs ride better.. maybe they aren't as stiff.. but they are bouncy as hell... what are you guys smoking??

ebay coilovers are fine as long as they dont break.. i know a lot of people that have them and they have had different experiences.. make sure you get decent shocks and install them correctly..

one guy didnt have a bumpstop installed and he cracked the sleeve from bottoming it out too much.. while a few friends of mine have had them for at least a year with no problems..

Good for the price.. but i would rather get drop springs or a matched coilover system for better handling..

if i were you, i'd get shocks and struts first... break those in... save some cash and in a few months get lowering springs or coils. just my opinion of course

i'm riding on cheap ebay coilovers..i got mines for $30 off someone used. i'm on my stock shocks of 206k miles and it still rides fine...no problems at all rides better than my bro's prelude with skunk2 coilovers on stock shocks...so i would definalty buy it again just for lowering purpose no performance.

IMO Ebay coilovers are fine for someone who wants to simply lower their car and is on a budget, I've had some for a year now as well as my bro with a civic hatch, they ride fine and we both have stock struts. Most stuff on ebay is just a clone of some brand name product. One tip that I can give to use with ebay coilovers if you keep stock struts (only if they aren't blown) is use some very cushy bumpstops, I used some from a 92 civic si/ex and the ride is fine. Do not cut your springs, its not a good idea. Get and ebay strut bar too while your at it.

Ok they work fine but i would recommend what you did.. Stock shocks shouldnt be on lowered cars.. especially since they had 206k miles on them... You might have gotten lucky but someone else could get hurt by doing this ****..

Once your stock shocks blow you will hit the ground every and any time.. definately not safe..

As a coilover to use with a PERFORMANCE strut i wouldnt mind using it.. but not on stock struts.. its just not worth it..

my girl has ebay coilovers , payed like 60 bucks for em and they ride awesome... handling is very good!............ the only thing that is bad is that after like 6 months the ride became a little bouncy..... so I say get them but dont lower them all the way and you probably dont need shocks
