94 Integra GSR making strange noise
Hi I just purchased my first car, a 94 Integra GSR, and I notice the between 3,000 and 3,500 RPM there is a strange sound that sounds like it is coming from the engine or under the car. It kinda sounds like something vibrating just pretty loud. Any ideas on what it might be? Thanks

thats a exhausting rattle. by the headers. and the ypipe
all i did was get a new header earlier and no more rattle.
u can fix it by welding the piece that opens and rattles.
its a common integra problem.

Just get a new header there is no use just welding something. When I first got mine it was so irritating. So I bought a DC header and no more noise.
def put your car up on some ramps and check the heat sheild under the car, i was close to changing my header but decided to look under the car first and what do you know my heat sheild was cracked, i just ripped it off and havent thought about it for about 2 years now.

This is one of the most common problems I have heard since I bought mine. It is caused by a crack in the "A" pipe of the exhaust manifold (headers). There are other problems like rocks being inside heat shield, but the sound you are describing sounds exactly as what i described. The reason why nobody bothers to get it fixed is because for the price of a new factory header, you could obtain something better. So, if you buy an aftermarket header, the sound will go away with the header. I have had that sound since I bought the car, and I honestly dont hear it anymore because I have become so accustomed to hearing it.
