new alternator
You know, people say you have to remove the axle and such, but that isn't true. If you take off the wheel and fender well lining you can wiggle it outta there above the axle.. At least, I could in my HF.
Otherwise if you have air conditioning equipped you do have to remove the belt that goes onto the acpulley.. Other than that you just get in there and it's a matter of removing the old alt. belt, and loosening the bolts for the alternator bracket.

If you have the stock motor it's pretty easy. Remove the alternator from its bracket, drop it down to the rear crossmember, slide it to the left of the intake manifold. (battery side) Be careful not to cut or damage any hoses. I found it easier to grip it by the pulley!
