Don't bother asking the Americans. They don't have the S-02 in stock size. We are lucky to have those in Europe. The S-02 is a newer tire than the RE-010. It is the predecessor of the S-03 and it's rated very high on dry and wet. I had the RE-010, now I have the S-03 (one size lower), and I will try the S-02 next.

philly care to explain the hammer? its not like i havent searched but i asked about 2 SPECIFIC tires.
DutchITr i had no idea that american didnt get the s02 in stock size. I wanna keep the stock size and i already had s02 but the thing is that when i got my car it had re010 but since they were kinda used i dont know how both compare.
Peace

sorry, it's just that there are like four thousand threads on tires, including european and japan only models - just try doing a search next time. Also, read the FAQ thread at the top of the page - it has TONS of info...
I just installed a fresh set of Re010's and they are simply awesome - but they are expensive, and they wear quickly. If you can get S03's in 195/55 size, that would probably be the best choice for stock wheels.

Actually, the RE010 is newer than the S-02. The RE010 in the stock ITR size (195/55-15) was developed specifically for the ITR and was introduced in 1997. The S-02 was developed earlier than that (as you mention, it has been superseded by the S-03) and was not designed specifically for the ITR.

There was already a RE-010 for the NSX and some Porsches long before the S-02. At that time you could buy the S-01 Expedia.....
I don't think the RE-010 is newly designed for the ITR from scratch. They just took the NSX/Porsche RE-010 design and adjust it for the ITR in that size....
If you look at the compound technology of the RE-010, you can see that the S-02PP has a lot of new stuff in it.
If RedR already had the RE-010 before, I would advise him to just try the S-02 now and compare them yourself and post some reviews here.
