I bought my 95 civic coupe 2 years ago w\ a salvaged title. IM gonna install my detachable steering wheel soon and i odnt want the airbags to blow in my face while im installing the wheel....is there a way to figure out if i still have airbags, if i do , do i need t o disable them in order to install the wheel, how?

 

Is your SRS light on? Is the plug still connected in the back of the cluster?

If the SRS light is on, you most likely don't have them.

If it's not plugged in the light won't be lit up either.

 

you should always unhook the battery when doing any type of modification. Especially one electrical related.

 

My red SRS light was always on, iit got annoying so i took that fuse out,, so the light wouldnt light up anymore...so does that mean i have no airbags then?

 

i would believe so, but to be sure just do what Vero said and disconnect the battery.

 

If you do still have it it doesn't work.

just dis connect your battery and to be safe take out the SRS fuses


or you can run into a wall
