Default help my 95 ex

ive got a 95 ex and i think i might want to start doing afew 'mods' to it. I really dont know a whole lot about what is available for my car, so i was hopeing that someone on the boards here might be interested in helping me out. How hard / expensive is an H22A swap, and then what additional performance could i squeeze out of that? I know that i want more power, but i also want some better handling, so what shocks / springs should get (a setup that has some oversteer would be very very nice, but is that possible on a FF car)? thanks alot.

first of all, make sure you check out the basic guide......(its not done yet.......damn guys, we need to finish that...)

h22 swap depends alot on whose doing it, where u get the motor, etc......
generally, motor is around 2k-2.5k, install is usually around 1k (u can DIY if u know what ur doing).......everything u need to know about suspension setups can be found in the guide (u rule iam7head)......my advice to yuo would be an adjustable damper shock, lowering springs, and a beefy rear sway bar

welcome to HT

NOT gonna happen w/o a turbo kit..........in fact, ud be hard-pressed to safely push 250 outa an H22 all motor and keep it reliable......

EDIT:u SHOULD be able to get roughly 230whp w/ all bolt ons, if u blow really really hard into ur intake filter

u could "easily" achieve 250 whp on ur f22....though ud probably wanna have someone check out the engine to make sure its in good enough condition to boost that high...(ur gonna have to push 14psi to reach that)......

depends on how good the driver is......but id guess low 14s, and MAYBE a really high 13 (like, 13.9x) on a good day w/ weight reduction.....

good luck

yup....but dude.....its not all about straight lines.......the spoon accord euro-r dominated the field at its most recent race (first appearance in the US), and won buy like, 12 laps......and thats a HEAVY *** 6th gen (japanese version) accord too.......sure low 14 high 13 isnt all the marvelous....but if u did gut it, and put slicks on it, ur talking mid to low 13s, if not better.....ur forgetting that those 8 sec camaros and **** and NOT street driveable.....ur car woule be......

hmm, so do you think a turbo F22b and the suspension mods as stated above would make the accord a lot of fun in the twisties? Thats what i really care about, is having fun in the corners but the whole FWD thing is what im questioning. For the money i would need to turbo, suspension, other parts (intake, exaust, etc) i could prolly pick up an older rx7 and mods and just leave my accord as a daily driver, you know. So what im trying to judge is the cost of mods vs a whole other car and mods, and at the moment im leaning towards the other car (unless all these mods are alot cheaper that i think(btw i also need a 5spd conversion, so this is prolly gonna b pretty costly).

I would be suprised if you could make 250 at the crank reliably.
With an F22b1 the most all motor you would prob make at the wheels would be around 150. If you were to turbo you would be looking easily at much more than 150 but you would not have reliability worth a damn. Id re-evaluate your goals maybe. I mean I would love to make 250whp off of my f22b1 but it is not realistic without spending a ton of money. Good luck though

and about the quarter mile estimate... you might as well ask your grandma...not to be mean but there is no way to give a reasonable estimate based on what ifs. I mean, this kid that lives in my town has a supra with 600+ hp and he runs like high 13s. But when he let his friend drive he ran a mid 12. So it is really hard to estimate qt times.

but you also have to think that with two cars, that's twice the ammount of insurance. I'm not quite certain how old you are, but for me, insurance is a bitch.

to all you newbs to the concept of the turbo f22, i present you with former member accordfreak .............

Turbo F22B1
14psi on stock block
269whp
281wtq

i personally wouldnt recomnd boosting that high, but his car lasted him for a LONG time running very "high" boost for a stock block

wow, this whole thing about not being able to post more than 5 times per day is messed up but any ways, i would consider doing a turbo tho (if i decide to tune my accord), my motor should be in pretty good shape only got about 72,000 on it!!! it could probably take some boost .

very true, but id consider having a good shop pull ur head (if not the whole engine) first and check everything out......have them do the turbo as well....and you should have very good results.....BTW: ull probably need new axles too, cause stock accord axles will eventually break under that much power....

id get a good suspension set up,and if u plan on doing the motor up ....do a full rebuild..top to bottom and boost it.as far as the hp , and twisty roads u'd have fun with that!!!just dont act a fool and wreck and hurt yourself
