From 88-89 to 90-91 bumper conversion
I picked up a 90-91 front bumper off a friends crx for cheap when he did a jdm front end conversion. So i painted the bumper to match the car yesterday, now trying to put it on. The bumper wont fit probley when the foam from the 88-89 is still on. but if i take the foam off it fits fine. So im guessing i would have to use the foam from a 90-91 crx. or could i just trim this foam down.
Just wondering what you guys did. Thanks

I may as well show a pic of the paint job i did yesterday (keep in mind its my first time doing anytype of bodywork)
oh yah i searched but didint find a answer

ON A SIDE NOTE: You should go to Canadian Tire and buy a can of black bumper paint to paint the black trim peices of your bumper ! Will make a huge difference !

well , this doesnt really relate to your question, but i am kind of doing the oposite of you,, i have a 91 crx and i have a 88 front bumper that i want to put onto my 91 ,
can some of you help me out with how to take the bumper off my 91 first,
then do i have to do anything to the 88 bumper to make it fit on my 91?? or will it just bolt right on,,,,
or if anyone knows a link to a site that tells you how to remove and install a bumper on a crx would really help
thanks

Bro do not remove the foam just trim it down until the bumper falls in thats what i did when i changed the bumpers on my 89 STD hatch which now has 91 Si front and rear bumpers I had the same problem with the front so I just trimmed the foam down until the bumper fell in.

not to mention what your insurance adjuster would say/do if he found out. could impact (no pun intended) you both ways.......less $$ for you for repairs to your vehicle and/or more $$ for rates when your vehicle does more damage to others.
just a thought.

What are you gonna do with your old bumpers? I have 2 88 crx's and I think the 88-89 bumpers and body styles are WAY better then the 90-91's so I'd love to have your bumpers!
