clutch/flywheel installed today.... help!
first clutch install for me, had alittle help from a friend who had done one to his GSR and a helms manual. Everything went perfect, didnt even have left over bolts
... no seriously though, couldnt of gone smoother. I really like the new feel of the clutch although i havent really tested it yet, as i want to wait atleast 500 miles to break it in. Theres one problem though. When i press my clutch ALL THE WAY to the floor i hear what seems to be a rubbing noise from the tranny area. I replaced both release and pilot bearings. My guess is one of the bearings (probably the release) is not working properly or the teeth from the pressure plate are disengaging too far and hitting the pressure plate mount?? I dont know alot about transmissions, just went by the book for the install. I replaced my tranny fluid too. The noise only occurs when the clutch is pressed all the way to the floor, it disengages fine and then about 1" from the floor the sound starts and then gets louder the further the clutch is pressed in until it hits the floor. Any ideas of the source of the noise?? I spent 7 hours today putting this thing in (remember first time) with no air tools and just my OEM jack and some jackstands... i have some pics that ill post up later. Before i rip everything out again to try and find the noise i was wondering if anyone could help me diagnose the problem so i know what to try and fix. Thanks guys.

-werx a tranny shop.... what type of clutch did you install? was the flywheel clean enough not to be resurfaced? and did you use a clutch alignment tool? (little dowel thingy with grooves) is the clutch high or low or right in the middle?
Hey Brandon , is that why you wouldnt let me try out the clutch tonight? if u ever do anything like this again let me know if i can help. Hope you get it fixed.
I haven't had one of these apart yet, but is it possible to put the disc in backwards? The spline on the disc generally sticks out further on one side, mind you that's the side that should face the pressure plate.. Do our cars have an ajjustable slave cyl on the tranny? if this is the case and your clutch disengages on the upper part of the pedal travel, then it needs adjustment..

hydraulic clutch you can't adjust really. you can play with the pedal a little but that may cause premature wear. My guess is you forgot to lube the release bearing.
Got to put my Exedy clutch in too..
