Default 99 Si Power Window Problem...

My buddy has a 99 Si and is having problems with his power windows. The drivers side window works all the time however the passenger only works sometimes. It may work for like a month then it wont at all for a week, then will work again. When its working it works good so it doesnt seem like somethings going bad, before he starts replacing ****, where u guys think the first place to look should be? The motor/regulator? If so how much do those go for typically? thanx alot in advance.
Dan

you might want to tell him to contact the dealer about it. i know tons of people with shitty power windows in 99-00 Sis. there may have been some kind of recall on something.......

Check for power and ground at the motor. That should help narrow down the location of the problem.

My driver's side is twice as fast as my passengers; rather annoying.

Dan, when are you going Tuning? - And where?
I think I might go to SpeedQuest, just a hundred bucks.

the passenger side window on my 96 ex started moving rather slowly until one day it came off the track. i had to pull apart the door panel and fix it, did it a couple times more and i got tired of fixing it so i dont even put the window down. i have yet to get it looked at... not sure whats up with his though....

my passenger side comes up about a second slower than my driver's side but that's about it.
Your friend might have gotten some water on his controls. That damn window liner-up thing outside the car always drips condensate on my car in the morning. They lined that damn thing up perfectly with the controls. Grrrr. So I don't ride around with my windows down first thing in the morning.

could be back wiring, or simply the motor is going. My friends is having a similar problem with his 00 EX, his driver's side window regulator is shot.... 80 $ part.

Is the car still under warranty???
